An ancient Chinese martial art and a form of meditation, discipline, and gentle exercise for health and longevity. Practiced by millions in China and throughout the world, the meditative, non-strenuous Tai Chi movements stimulate, cleanse, massage and regulate the body's internal systems as well as develop muscles, strength and physical fitness. Regular Tai Chi practice relieves stress and tension, increases inner energy and tranquility, improves balance and flexibility, and promotes physical-mental harmony and well-being. Learn the Tai Chi stances, movements and forms in sequence with clear, step by step instruction. Basic Qi Gong and meditation exercise included.

Holly Yang has been teaching Tai Chi for 25 years and was the 1st place winner for Yang Style Tai Chi 108 forms in Shanghai, China.

Qi Gong is the ancient Chinese healing system which is both therapeutic and preventive. It cultivates one's life energy (Qi) and body immunity. The gentle, meditative and pleasant Qi Gong exercises in this class are designed to benefit neck, shoulder, back, joints, internal organs, and nervous system as well as develop flexibility, strength and physical fitness. A practical, useful, and effective course if your life or goals have anything to do with China. Learn about standard Pin-Yin pronunciation system, basic grammar, common expressions and vocabulary for travel, business, education, and personal pleasure. Chinese culture and character writing system are introduced. Course materials cover both Chinese I and II.

Holly Yang has over 20 years of teaching experience with two Masters in Chinese Language and Literature from Shanghai Teachers’ University and University of Washington.

Chinese calligraphy is the art of writing Chinese characters with a brush. Learn the basic strokes and rules of writing Chinese characters as well as the meaning and pronunciation of the characters you are working on.
